Yes, some things bear repeating…
Fact: Only 40 miles of the Upper Hudson is currently slated for an environmental cleanup by General Electric even though the Hudson River PCBs Superfund Site is made up of nearly 200 miles of the Hudson River (from upstate Hudson Falls to the Battery in New York City).
Question: What about the other 160 miles of contaminated river?
How’d that particular deal get cut?
And how do you feel about taxpaying citizens like yourself – not a corporation with millions in profits – being responsible for paying for the cleanup of a toxic mess that General Electric made? By the way, that 160 miles of river we’re on the hook for is four times the amount of river GE is fighting so hard not to clean up. I wonder how many lawyers and lobbyists worked to “fix” this problem for GE…
It’s like a bad movie, isn’t it? I suggest you attend the CAG meeting in September and make your voice heard. See you there – Hudson
