Code Yellow flood alert for Danube basin

From ACTMEDIA

The Code Yellow flood advisory launched on Monday, January 4, 6 a.m., for the Danube River, the segment downstream of the Iron Gates Hydro Power System, was prolonged until January 11, 6 a.m.

The evolution of the Code Yellow alert in the Danube basin, upstream from entering the country (near Bazias) as well as the Iron Gates Hydro Power System, was caused by the current flooding situation, as well as by the prognosis of the hydro-meteorologic situation, shows a release on Monday of the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INGHA).

According to the INHGA release, the Code Yellow refers to the Gruia-Corabia segment of the Danube River and was issued for 3 counties (Mehedinti, Dolj and Olt). Experts also maintain the Code Yellow warning for the Turnu Magurele-Zimnicea segment (corresponding to the Teleorman County) and also for the Isaccea segment ( in the Tulcea County).
